Part-Time Interior Plant Care Specialist

Love caring for plants? We're looking for a passionate plant care specialist to help maintain our upscale plant design installations across NYC. As an interior horticulturist you’ll be responsible for the care and maintenance of our interior plant installations for both our private residential and commercial clients. This position is ideal for horticulture students, seasoned professionals, or plant enthusiasts eager to learn and advance. This position is mostly independent and requires individuals comfortable with working solo. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop knowledge of indoor plant species and their care requirements (training provided)

  • Assess and administer appropriate watering to individual plants. 

  • Identify and manage pests, implementing treatments as needed

  • Prune and dust foliage to maintain plant appearance and health

  • Show up to job sites on time and work within allotted timeframes

  • Maintain cleanliness at job sites, paying attention to detail and design

  • Keep an updated log of site notes to be shared with the team

  • Be able to communicate effectively with clients 

  • Assist with installations, including planting and delivery

  • Continuously improve horticultural skills

Requirements:

  • Availability for 2-3 set days per week (with potential for more)

  • Have knowledge, experience, or an interest in tropical and interior plants. 

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

  • Ability to lift at least 30lbs

  • Familiarity with NYC public transit

  • Have good time management skills, and be able to work independently as well as on a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Interest in interior plant design and floral design a plus

Compensation:

  • $20-25 per hour based on experience

  • Reimbursement for MTA travel costs
